LARC XV in North Carolina putting radioactive sand into the ocean.
We were never quite sure if the sand came from the bomb that
was accidentally dropped by the Air Force in the Carolinas
(which is what we suspected) or from the H-bomb that was lost off Spain.
The experiment was to see how the salt water would dissipate the
radioactivity in the sand in various quantities.
