James Harrell home build
James was able to successfully launch his amphibian in California (February 2002).
It drove up the the water ramp very nicely and the jet drive manouvered well
with the wheels down.
James will now begin adding the hydraulics to retract the wheels for high
speed in the water.

The latest April 2002.
performed a test using my hydraulic system that retracted the wheels.
All the mechanical and hydraulic systems worked very well,
however James was not able to get up on the step and plane.
He is currently in the process of designing some bow planes and
transom trim tabs to help lift it out.
The notes show the original inventor was also working on a bow plane
before he passed away. So far James got to 8 mph but the wake was tremendous.
The Buick V6 was roaring at about 5500 rpm in 4th gear.
The near term plans are to have the bow planes and trim tabs made and begin
to search for funding to continue the project.
James had to sell this project when he moved house in 2006.
Nothing is known from the new owner.
