FV180 Ced FV180 CET (Combat Engineer Tractor) (Royal Ordnance - Great Britain)

This is essentially a large, armoured Excavator/Bulldozer of highly unusual shape, with a full amphibious capability, courtesy of water jets and floatation bags, one of which is carried in the bucket. It must be one of the only pieces of amphibious earth-moving equipment in existence, thereby allowing you to fulfil two childhood ambitions at once! ;-) It has another piece of neat gear to make the amateur amphibian green with envy: a rocket-propelled ground anchor which it can use to pull itself out of trouble/up steep exit-banks.

Giat AMX Giat AMX-10RC (France)

A large 6 wheeled armoured car with a big tank gun.
The AMX 10 RC has hydro pneumatic suspension, with a high and variable ground clearance.
notable because:
a) it must be one of the most heavily armed amphibians around
b) it has tank-style skid steering,
and could, therefore, be regarded at the ultimate "6x6 ATV" ;-)

Gibbs Technologies Aquada Gibbs Technologies (Aquada) (2003)

First known as the NOVA I in 2001

It has retractable wheels and a water jet propulsion system. This car performs as a speedboat.

But the hull shape makes that only possible on relative flat water.

This amphibious vehicle can make a speed of 35 mph (56 km/h) on water and 100 mph (160 km/h) on the road.

The time of development was 7 year;

About 60 where build.

Not for sale!!! for now

http://www.gibbstech.co.uk

Now 2008 in Detroit USA a factory is set up.

When produktion will start is unknown.

Gibbs Technologies Humdinga Gibbs Technologies Humdinga (2004)

It is a 4x4 concept amphib it is not intended that the Gibbs Humdinga will be manufactured in its current form.

On land the Gibbs Humdinga can accelerate from 0-60 in 9.2 seconds and on water can reach the 'plane' in less than 10 seconds.
It has a curb weight of 2000kg, all wheel have independent air suspension and it runs on regular unleaded petrol.
The vehicle is 5400mm in length, 1850mm in height and 2000mm in width.

http://www.gibbstech.co.uk

Gibbs Quadski Gibbs Technologies Quadski

Quadski is the third demonstration of Gibbs’ HSA technology following the successes of the Aquada and the Humdinga. It is capable of travelling up to 50 mph (72 kph) on land and water and makes the transition at the flick of a switch.

Comment from there web site:
Consumers will love the fun of driving a Quadski on land one minute and then head straight into the sea or river the next. But there is a very serious side to Quadski as well: emergency services and aid workers will be able to reach areas and people no two or four wheel drive vehicle could reach.

SEEGOLF GOLF VW Seegolf (1984)

Built by Prof.Dr. Fiala from Volkswagen Research Centre. It was powered by a 150 PS engine and was doing good performance in water. The pontoons could be moved over its top for road ability. The prop had a long shaft and was lowered down in the water. The Golf was not amphibious on its own, it just floated on the pontoons.

Picture and info was send in by René Pohl the author of the book
"Mit dem Auto baden gehen", (SOLD OUT). Who has an amphibious site of his one.

No Picture GOER see Caterpillar GOER.

To ADD GSP

The GSP is built on two tracked amphibians, placed side by side and flanked by two large steel pontoons.

The set consists of two half-ferries a bit like two EWK MB2 side by side.

For loading and unloading, goes by a ramp extending from the outer sides of the pontoons. The pontoons are filled with foam plastic to make them unsinkable.
